Trump sounds positive after Modi speaks on phone
Narendra Modi reportedly spoke with Donald Trump for 30 minutes on Monday night (IST) regarding several issues that have cropped up in the wake of the abrogation of Article 370. There have been heated developments, especially with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan sounding aggressive and even warning of Pulwama-type attacks.
While what exactly Modi said to Trump will remain a secret, the US President has sounded optimistic in his Tuesday tweet. He revealed that a conversation with Khan, too, has happened. "Spoke to my two good friends, Prime Minister Modi of India, and Prime Minister Khan of Pakistan, regarding Trade, Strategic Partnerships and, most importantly, for India and Pakistan to work towards reducing tensions in Kashmir. A tough situation, but good conversations!" Trump said.
Last week, Pakistan was embarrassed at the UNSC when it got snubbed by the US, France and Russia.
