BJP loses one more ally in one more state

After the TDP walked out of the NDA earlier this year, it's now the turn of the BJP to walk out of Mehbooba Mufti's People's Democratic Party in Jammu and Kashmir.  Saying that the BJP-PDP alliance was untenable, the saffron party today opined that "terrorism, violence and radicalization" have only grown in the state.

It's believed that the BJP severed ties with its partner only because it always knew that the latter will anyways do it in near future.  Also, the saffron party has now made its core voters happy by dumping the PDP, which is seen as an insincere organization with respect to separatism.

What is the immediate fallout for the state?  "Jammu & Kashmir is now heading towards Governor’s rule.  I feel the PDP has been caught unawares by the BJP's exit. The security operations against Pakistan-sponsored terrorists will continue with full steam. Armed forces are happy with the decision," says journalist Aditya Raj Kaul.
