Bollywood director accused of preparing 'hit list'
Vivek Agnihotri, a pro-Narendra Modi Bollywood filmmaker, has been accused of preparing a hit list of "urban naxals", a term made famous by the director. By urban naxals, Vivek usually means those who wage a "war against India" by sympathizing with anti-India forces.
So, what triggered the charge against Vivek? He had tweeted this much: "I want some bright young people to make a list of all those who are defending #UrbanNaxals Let’s see where it leads. If you want to volunteer with commitment, please DM me."
This made many claim that Vivek is making a list of those who are against the Modi government. Pranav Dixit said, "A right-wing Indian film director is now asking for volunteers to create a hit list on social media of people who disagree with the current government. Not sure where this falls under Twitter's Rules, but this should be grounds for suspension. It risks real-world violence."
Stand-up comedian Tanmay Bhat lamented, "Of all the things this man has done, this is probably the most deplorable. Go ahead put me on this list."
