Can Manu director be a Sukumar?
Phanindra Narsetti, the director of 'Manu', says that he has an academic bent of mind like Sukumar. "Just as Sukumar was into Mathematics before he became a filmmaker, I too keep interest in academics," the new-age filmmaker says.
Before bagging the opportunity to direct 'Manu', Narsetti had made 'Backspace' and 'Madhuram', two critically-acclaimed short films. The 30-year-old doesn't come with any formal training nor did he ever work under any director. "Creativity can't be taught," he feels.
With 'Manu' flopping owing to its esoteric and surrealistic content, one has to see what is in store for the director. Like Sukumar, he believes in a logical form of storytelling. But can he make commercial movies, too? Only time will tell.
