Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has created a controversy by saying that the Internet and satellite communications are not something new but have existed since the Mahabharata era! Hours later, he also said that only narrow-minded people would disagree with this. The remark has sparked a number of jokes. Says Prof. Audrey Truschke, "This raises a few questions. Why didn't Abhimanyu ask Quora how to escape the Chakravyuha? Why did Sanjay narrate the Kurukshetra War when Siri could have done it? Also, Krishna really should have streamed the Bhagavad-Gita on Facebook Live." Many are jokingly wondering if the Tripura CM recently watched KV Reddy's 'Mayabazaar', in which something of a laptop sort of thing is shown. On the other hand, the Governor of Tripura has actually defended his CM. "What he said was very topical, because without some kind of prototype, it's difficult to conceive something. Fact that these things had been conceived in those days, proves there was something of this nature," he said.
