Congress vote-share is depleting across India
Psephologist Dr. Praveen Patil of 5forty3 has asserted that the Congress party is currently staring at a fate worse than that in 2014. While it may win a higher number of seats in 2019, its vote-share could see a dip by about 4 percent compared to 2014.
"Although most of the media/social media discussions are about whether Narendra Modi can win 2019, the real crisis is in the Congress which is in danger of falling below 15% vote-share across India. The party is losing its base in every village, town and city of India," Dr. Patil has said.
Of course, the fall (it at all the aforementioned assertion is true) of the Congress will not automatically mean good news for the BJP. A lot depends on what happens months before the 2019 General Elections. Many feel that Congress shouldn't weaken too much, in which case anti-BJP votes will be corned by one or two parties in some states, affecting the BJP negatively.
