Court verdict is good news for Imran Khan
Former cricketer Imran Khan, who is a Prime Ministerial aspirant in Pakistan, leads the opposition Tehreek-e-Insaf. With former PM Nawaz Sharif being convicted for holding "undeclared assets in London", analysts say that Imran Khan can't ask for more 20 days ahead of elections.
It's said that Sharif's party was leading in opinion polls till recently. But even his daughter and her husband have been sentenced by courts.
"I would like to ask the people who stood by Nawaz Sharif, don't you have to answer Allah? He is accountable for Rs 30,0000 crore, the money which went into the accounts of his children. Everyone knew that he is lying. Everything was exposed in the Court," Imran Khan today said in Islamabad.
"In 10 years, Pak's debts went from Rs 6,000 Arab to Rs 27,000 Arab. If we want to pull Pak out of this, we will have to run it on principles on which Medina is run," Imran added at a public rally.
