COVID-19: Kerala sees spike, Maha witnesses curfew
Kerala has on Monday seen a big spike in Coronavirus positive cases. Official health bulletin says that 28 new cases have been registered, with 19 of them coming from Kasaragod, 5 from Kannur, 2 from Ernakulam, and one each from Pathanamthitta, and Thrissur.
"Kerala now has 91 cases in total. We are entering extraordinary times," Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan today said.
As for Maharashtra, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has imposed curfew, becoming India's first State to do so. "On Sunday, we sealed the state borders. Today, we are sealing district borders," he said. The drastic measure is meant to contain the spread of the disease and prevent it from spreading to other districts. Domestic terminals will also be closed later tonight.
