Damn with BJP's hypocrisy regarding temples
Freeing of Hindu temples from state control is one of the pet promises of the BJP. This promise was prominently made by the party ahead of the Assembly elections in Karnataka.
But curiously, the Hindutva party has gone back on its own promise made in Karnataka in Maharashtra. The Devendra Fadnavis government in this key state has taken control of the famous Shani Shingnapur temple.
This move by the BJP government has become controversial among its core voters, who expect the party to be at the forefront of practicing equal rules for all religions. The Shani Shingnapur controversy has come at a time when BJP's core supporters are angry that the Centre is saying Yoga has nothing to do with Hinduism.
