Does 'desperate' AAP need Congress?
The other day, Arvind Kejriwal tweeted that the country needs an educated PM like Manmohan Singh. It's now widely speculated that the Aam Admi Party and the Congress may enter into a pre-poll alliance ahead of the 2019 polls.
Kanchan Gupta says, "Possible. Kejriwal going with Congress would be a replay of the Biblical tale of the prodigal son returning home." It's because AAP itself is believed to be a protege of the Grand Old Party.
Sharmistha Mukherjee of the Congress, writes, "AAP is facing an existential crisis. No wonder it’s desperate for an alliance with Congress, a party and its leaders whom Kejriwal abused unabashedly. If he has courage and conviction, let him immediately quash rumours and reject these stories as false."
Ajay Maken of the Congress notes, "When the people of Delhi are continuously rejecting the Kejriwal Govt, why should we come to their rescue? After all, Kejriwal with team Anna supported by the RSS, helped in creating this monster of Modi!"
