Does Kamal Haasan over-react often?
There is this tendency in some politicians to over-react to issues. Kamal Haasan, it seems, can be said to be one such kind. The Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday suspended all data services in Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari (three districts) until May 27 on the pretext of preventing rumours from being spread. This followed the Tuticorin clashes on Tuesday.
Taking to Twitter, Kamal Haasan resorted to hyperbolic language. "Internet connection cut in Thooththukkudi? Alarming! What next? Excommunicate Tamil Nadu? TN would see an uprising, much bigger than any, in its history. No Government is strong enough to take on the might of my people," the Makkal Needhi Maiam politico said.
"Excommunicate TN?" and "uprising" unheard of in the state's history could have been avoided. Over-reaction doesn't sell always.
