Donald Trump gets shockingly bold

US President Donald Trump is unpredictable and he has proved it once again.  Warning Iran of unmitigated disaster (not his words, though) if it ever tries to messes up with his country, the Republican hardliner has used a terribly all-caps tweet to warn the Islamic nation.

"To Iranian President Rouhani: NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!" he tweeted out.

But is there more than what meets the eye?  Journalist Julia Ioffe is not ready to take things at face value.  "Prediction: in a year, Trump has a summit with Rouhani in some neutral city—Dubai?—on which 1,500 journalists will descend, at which point, Trump and his supporters will claim that he averted war with Iran," she says.

Comments Paul Krugman, a critic of the Trump era: "Someone is getting ready to wag the dog, using war to distract us from their own betrayal of America. Also, the bit about accusing Iranian leaders of using power to enrich themselves is just .. special, coming from the Trump administration."
