Extreme reactions after Agnivesh's assault
Arya Samaj leader Swami Agnivesh, who is known for his anti-Sangh Parivar utterances and activities, was assaulted by a bunch of unidentified activists on Tuesday. It was in Jharkhand. It has been alleged that the 80-year-old Swami was beaten up by BJP Yuva Morcha activists.
"There was no police personnel present there. Even when I repeatedly called the SP and the DM, they didn't turn up. I was told that ABVP and BJP Yuva Morcha workers want to protest. I told them there is no need to protest, they can come in and talk. No one came in at that time," Agnivesh said yesterday after the attack.
It has been said that the BJP men attacked him because he is batting for Adivasi rights. However, others have said that he has a questionable track record. "As far as I know, Swami Agnivesh is a person who survives on foreign donations. The saffron dress that he wears is to deceive the simple Indians. He is a fraud and not a Swami. He had himself planned this attack to gain popularity," CP Singh, a Jharkhand Minister, today said.
Chief Minister Raghubar Das has order a probe.
