Gandhi, Nehru were rich people: Kamal Haasan
Kamal Haasan is OK with the criticism that he is not a full-time politician. In his latest interview, the actor-politician says that he needs his Sundays. "Even the Prime Minister is not a full-time politician," he observes with a tinge of laughter.
Call it whatever you may, Kamal says that Gandhi could "afford to enter politics because he was the son of a Diwan". "The likes of him, Nehru and Gautam Buddha were well-off. They were not underdogs," the 'Vishwaroopam-2' actor says. Kamal adds that people should trust him as he has seen affluence.
He has sensationally claimed that a political party recently offered him Rs. 100 crores after he launched Makkal Needhi Maiam. But he is not ready to budge. Kamal didn't take the money as that would have meant that his party's policies and ethics would have to be sacrificed as per the whims and fancies of the financier.
