Hit adult comedy courts controversy
'Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu', a Tamil-language film, is in the news for both right and wrong reasons. On the one hand, it has attained the break-even mark at the box-office within days of its release. On the other hand, the adult comedy has been found explicit and vulgar by many, including veteran Kollywoodians like Bharati Raja.
The much-lampooned film has been described as too unpalatable. It has been called "unfit for being watched with women in one's family".
A few political outfits have already called for its ban. They are wondering how it was even cleared by the CBFC. Made on a low budget, the film has been a big hit in urban centres like Chennai. Trade circles are expecting that its collections will only go up, thanks to the ongoing controversies.
