How can Vishal justify irresponsible dialogue?
Vishal is currently in Hyderabad to promote 'Abhimanyudu', the dubbed version of 'Irumbu Thirai'. Ahead of its release on June 1, the actor is busy convincing the audience as to why the film is relevant. It creates awareness about how technology (apps, Aadhar linkage, etc) makes us vulnerable.
Vishal reveals that the film's villain (played by Arjun Sarja) says that he can decide which party gets your vote when you press a button on EVM. This is problematic.
There is no evidence that EVMs can be hacked. The Election Commission has invited parties like AAP in the past to prove they can be mass-hacked. Many independent experts have written about why it's technically impossible to tinker with EVMs. However, many in India believe the machines can be hacked. This is because myths don't need any evidence. Given this scenario, is it not irresponsible on the part of 'Abhimanyudu' to have Arjun's line? Don't such dialogues in films weaken people's faith in our democracy?
