Kagana Ranaut' Manikarnika to land in controversy?
Krish Jagarlamudi recently completed directing 'Manikarnika', the Rani Laxmibai biopic.
In a conversation with Isha Foundation's Jaggi Vasudev, the film's leading actress Kangana Ranaut recently revealed that there is a scene in the movie where the Jhansi's queen saves a calf from being butchered. Everybody on the film set found the scene quite problematic, she said. There is a rumour that the scene was reshot to show that the queen saved a lamb! It's because saving a calf/cow would be politically incorrect in India, Kangana suggested.
Already, Kangana's "revelation" has angered many Hindutva supporters on social media, who feel that the scene shouldn't have been tinkered with and that it should have been shot as was written originally.
