Karan Johar's historical is his most opulent ever

It's known that Karan Johar is all set to direct a historical titled 'Takht' (Hindi).  The Bollywood director is basing it on the story of the "fight to the finish for the Mughal throne", involving Aurangazeb.

The film stars Kareena Kapoor, 'Padmaavat' Ranveer Singh, 'Brahmastra' Alia Bhatt, 'Sanju' Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Anil Kapoor and 'Dhadak' Janhvi Kapoor in leading roles.  In terms of scale and lavishness, this is Karan's best ever movie, in the director's own words.

Dialogue-writer Hussain Haidry and screenplay-writer Sumit Roy have been described by Karan as the "heartbeat and soul" of this historical.

There is this rumour that the film whitewashes Aurangazeb's sins by normalizing his brutality.  But this could be based on hearsay, much as in the case of 'Padmaavat'.
