Mayawati expels anti-Rahul Gandhi party man
At a time when BSP and Congress, together with SP, are keen on a grand alliance in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2019 elections, BSP's vice president Jai Prakash Singh recently commented that Rahul Gandhi is not fit to be the country's Prime Minister given Sonia Gandhi's foreign origins.
Even as BJP's supporters were jubilant over the remarks, Mayawati expelled him from his position. "I came to know about BSP national coordinator Jai Prakash Singh's speech in which he spoke against the ideology of BSP and also made personal remarks against the leadership of rival parties. It's his personal opinion. So, he has been removed from his post with immediate effect," the former UP CM said.
"In UP and other states as well, until an alliance with a party is announced, party members should refrain from speaking anything about alliance at any level. They should leave it to the high command," she further said.
