No plans to extend lockdown: Modi govt sources
There have been rumours that the Modi government might extend the ongoing Coronavirus lockdown by more than a week. As of now, the national lockdown ends on April 14.
Prasar Bharathi has said that there is no such plan. "We got in touch with the Cabinet Secretary, who expressed surprise (over news reports speculating extension) and told us there is no such plan of extending the lockdown," PB News Service today said.
On Sunday, during his Mann Ki Baat address to the nation, the Prime Minister apologized to the nation for taking the severe measure of locking down the country. "I know that it's causing anger among many. But I have no other option," Modi observed.
