Pak PM's doublespeak on Hindus

Prime Minister Imran Khan is in the news for a positive reason.  He has taken steps for the sacking of a Minister named Fayyazul Hassan Chohan for making "anti-Hindu remarks" recently.

While Khan's decision in this regard is welcome, especially because Hindus are a beleaguered minority in Pakistan, the doublespeak is obvious if you consider some of the recent statements from him and others in his government.

A Minister in his government recently said that "bells won't ring in Hindu temples".  He was warning India after the Balakot airstrikes.  Another Minister said, "Do you people remember Bin Qasim, Ghori?  Do you know about Ghazwa-e-Hind?"  Ghori was a barbaric invader of India.  And Ghazwa-e-Hind seeks to destroy India.

Forget others, Imran Khan himself said in the Parliament that "Tipu Sultan is our hero".  Tipu Sultan was hardly a tolerant king.  His atrocities on some non-Muslim populations are well-documented.  How can such a flawed king be a hero to anyone?
