Pakistan Waali Galli wants name changed, requests CM
Believe it or not, there is a colony named Pakistan Waali Galli in Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh. The name has a history but it's quite bizarre that it has been retained for several decades for no rhyme or reason. The residents of the colony are miffed that even their Aadhar cards bear this name and so, they face discrimination everywhere!
"We are Indians. Four of our ancestors came here from Pakistan a long time ago. To this day, even our Aadhar cards have 'Pakistan Waali Galli written on them. We don't get employment even after showing the Aadhar Card. We spend money on our children's education but even they won't get employment. We are very disturbed. We request the PM and the CM to change the name of this colony and provide us employment," a resident has been quoted as saying by a news agency.
