'President, his wife harassed at Puri temple'
It was on March 18 that President Ramnath Kovind and the First Lady visited the famous Puri Jagannath temple. This is when a group of servitors reportedly blocked the President as he was trying to enter the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. It's reported that the President's wife was shoved as per the minutes penned down by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).
Following this, a probe has been launched.
Meanwhile, Damodar Mahasuar, the temple's priest, said, "On March 22, President Ram Nath Kovind and his wife came for darshan at Jagannath Puri temple. We accompanied him and no one misbehaved with him. After 3 months, Pradeep Jana of Shree Jagannath Temple Admin and District Magistrate of Puri said they had received a complaint from Rashtrapati Bhawan that stated 'Pandas' (servitors) misbehaved with Pres and his wife. The allegations are baseless."
