Rahul gets it wrong on Cola, McDonald's
Rahul Gandhi has been trolled incessantly since yesterday for saying that the founder of McDonald’s was a ‘Dhaba waala’. He also noted that the man behind Coca-Cola was a ‘Shikanji waala’, meaning a lemonade seller.
Pemberton, who started Coca-Cola, was actually a lieutenant colonel in the US army. He invented a concoction while trying to find a cure for his morphine drug addiction. But the Congress President has claimed that he did so by mixing sugar in water.
"Alexander Fleming earlier used to sell pen and pencil separately before finally deciding to sell them together as Penicillin," joked columnist Akhilesh Mishra, taking a dig at Rahul. "The founder of Pizza Hut was very poor and was staying in a hut when he baked his first pizza. Thats why name is "Pizza Hut"," wrote scientist Vijay Chauthaiwale.
