Rain in Bengaluru, politicians worried
Recently, when weather forecasters said that it could rain in Bengaluru on Saturday (the polling day in Karnataka), it sent jitters down the spine of many politicians. Their worst fears seem to be coming true, with rains having been reported in several localities in the last 24 hours.
The big fear is that, due to rains, voter turnout will be low. This could benefit the party which needs lower turnout. But it will be a headache for the party that expects higher turnout will mean change of guard.
But some analysts feel that those who will turn out to vote despite rain will conclusively signal that they want a new ruling dispensation at any cost! High rains will clog Bengaluru's roads, which will put the citizens to inconvenience. Won't such frustrated citizens vote out the ruling party, some have asked!
