'Saakshyam' is not a timepass movie

Sriwass is proud of his film 'Saakshyam', which he says is not a timepass entertainer.  "It has to be watched attentively.  Otherwise, you will end up having questions.  It has a layered screenplay.  Even what Prakash Raj's voiceover is so very important," he says.

A supernatural thriller, it stars Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas as the hero.  Many are complaining that the songs are quite distracting.  Says the director in defence of songs, "The time for songless films is not yet ripe.  No director wants distractive songs.  But then, is the audience ready to watch a 90-minute movie sans songs?  No.  Even the distributors are not ready for such movies because of the audience's demands."

The film has been slammed for its predictability.  Sriwass says that it's far from predictable as the characters played by Ananth Sriram and others don't reveal much.
