Sanju beats a Baahubali-2 record
By earning a share of Rs. 100 crores by Sunday morning, 'Sanju' had become the year's 8th movie to enter the billion rupee club, after 'Padmaavat', 'Sonu Ke Titu Sweety', 'Raid', 'Baaghi-2', 'Raazi', and 'Race-3'.
And by the end of Sunday, its opening weekend collections (read Indian business) crossed even Padmaavat's Rs. 114 crores, by netting Rs. 120.06 crores. At No. 3 is 'Race 3' with Rs. 106.47 crores. At No. 4 is 'Baaghi-2' with Rs. 73.10 crores, and 'Raid' with Rs. 41.01 crores is at No. 5.
As per a trade analyst, the Sanjay Dutt biopic has beat even a record held by 'Baahubali-The Conclusion'. "The Ranbir Kapoor starrer has scored the highest single-day figure for a Hindi film by demolishing the record held by 'Baahubali-2', which had collected Rs. 46.50 crores on its Day 3 (which was a Sunday) in India. And 'Sanju' has made Rs. 46.71 crores on Day 3 in India, which is Rs. 20 lakhs more."
