Nobel Peace Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi, who has saved millions of children from trafficking, hopes that the tragic Kathua rape issue will be a turning point. He says, "I am deeply saddened by this mass apathy towards the safety of children. Be it Kathua or Kasur, the time is now to become intolerant of this barbaric crime of rape and murder of our daughters. Our collective moral conscience with robust and speedy justice delivery system can end this. I hope that #kathua becomes a turning point in the history of India. No child should have to wait for several years to see the light of justice. Once again, I demand a National Children’s Tribunal to ensure cases related to children be disposed of in a time-bound manner." He further notes, "I have been calling on this country’s political leadership to devote atleast one day of a parliament session for concrete discussions on all issues concerning children. Now is the time to overcome this apathy and come together to make a New India for children."
