The government was not prepared to handle COVID-19: Rahul

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today alleged that the government didn't prepare to handle COVID-19 even though it had time for preparation.  He quoted one Dr. Kamna Kakkar as saying this: "When they arrive, please send N95 masks and gloves to my grave. Taali aur thaali b baja dena waha! Regards, frustrated sarkari doctor."

The Wayanad MP said, "I am feeling sad, because this was completely avoidable. We had time to prepare. We should have taken this threat much more seriously and have been much better prepared."

Soon after Rahul quote-tweeted the doctor, social media influencers said that her account had been created just 24 hours before.  They see a conspiracy to defame the Modi government.  On her part, the doctor said, "I am a doctor. I do not endorse views of any political party, any religious organization or anything even remotely polarizing. Kindly do not misuse my tweets for any agenda. I am ONLY here for the welfare of my fellow colleagues (doctors, nurses, health staff) and my patients."
