Tirupati, Vijayawada make AP proud!
The Centre on Monday unveiled the latest Ease of Living Index report prepared by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. In entire South India, only two cities feature among Top 10. They are Tirupathi (No. 4) and Vijayawada (No. 9), both from Andhra Pradesh.
"After being ranked the 6th and 5th cleanest cities in India on Swacch Survekshan-2018, Tirupati and Vijayawada have gained national recognition once again by claiming the 4th and 9th positions on the #EaseOfLiving Index in a survey done by MoHUA," a proud Andhra Pradesh CM said.
Three cities from Maharashtra – Pune, Navi Mumbai and Greater Mumbai – feature in the Index as No. 1, 2 and 3. At No. 6 is Thane, another Maharashtra city.
Key states like the populous Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, progressive states Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka haven't found a place in Top 10.
At No. 5 is Chandigarh, No. 7 is Raipur, No. 8 is Indore, and No. 10 is Bhopal.
