Villages following quarantine rules more strictly: Reports

India is in lockdown till April 14.  Our cities and towns have come to a standstill due to the halt of economic activities.  Not many media reports are focussing on the state of affairs in rural areas.

Some reports are emerging and, as per them, villages are following the home quarantine rules strictly.  "Villagers are blocking the roads and putting up signages saying that outsiders are not allowed. They also keep a strict vigil on home-quarantined people as everybody knows everybody. But that is not possible in cities where people don't know who lives next door," says Raju Das, a social media influencer.

Addressing the media recently, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said that villagers are found not letting others step into their villages.  "This is good but such blocking can also avert economic activity from taking place smoothly," KCR said.
