The TDP wishes that the Telugus living in Karnataka don't vote for the BJP in the Assembly elections due next month. The perception is that the Telugus living in the Kannada state are angry with the saffron party for "cheating Andhra Pradesh".
Assuming that Telugus are going to vote against both TDP and JDS (the latter is said to be in a secret agreement with the saffron party), will they be able to determine the outcome of the elections? Notably, no serious psephological analysis is available as yet.
There are also concerns that Telugus many choose their voting preference on the basis of what is relevant for Karnataka, where they have been living for years, rather than what matters to AP.
There is another issue. "Telugu voters in Karnataka wouldn't vote on the basis of what happens in AP, while local Kannadigas might get polarised in favor of BJP and JDS," says a Twitter user.
