AIMIM leader Waris Pathan may just have delivered an extremely communal and hate-filled speech in a recent rally. While saying that Muslim women have risen up against the CAA and the NRC, he crossed the line by issuing a veiled threat to the majority community.
Resorting to dog-whistling, Pathan remarked that "when the entire Muslim community comes together, it will be a bigger force than 100 crore people."
As quoted by ANI, he said, "They (probably referring to BJP leaders) tell us that we have kept our women in the front. Only the lionesses have come out so far and you are already sweating. You can understand what will happen if all of us join hands."
Hitting back BJP Karnataka's official Twitter handle said, "Hiding behind children and women, LEGENDS are seeking "Azadi". What more Azadi do they want? Aren't they enjoying every kind of Azadi since 1947? Waris Pathan and other leaders of AIMIM should come out of their Aurangzeb's World. These threats don't work in the new India."
