Ajinkya Rahane should have got to play WC: Former BCCI secretary
Former BCCI Secretary Sanjay Jagdale has opined that the selectors of the Indian cricket team didn't have the right vision to ensure the World Cup victory.
"I think the team needs batsmen like Ajinkya Rahane at No. 4. We kept experimenting for three months and with players who didn't have a proven track record outside the sub-continent. Rahane has always scored in England, and Rishabh Pant made test 100s in England and Australia," he has been quoted as saying by a news agency.
"Shankar didn't have experience of playing in England. I had been speaking of Rahane since the middle order looked weak," he said.
He found fault with the selectors for trying Vijay Shankar and Dinesh Karthik. He also said that like Karthik, Ambati Rayudu "couldn't establish his position".
