Arun Jaitley breathes his last
Arun Jaitley (66) today passed away at 12:07 pm at AIIMS in New Delhi.  It was on the 9th of this month that the senior parliamentarian was admitted to the hospital for treatment of palpitations.  The former Union Minister's condition turned critical after a few days, only to turn even more critical after a gap.
In a month that saw the demise of Sushma Swaraj, the news comes as a big shock.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has cancelled his Hyderabad visit upon hearing the news.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not in the country at the moment.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy has condoled the death.  "Sorry to hear about the demise of #ArunJaitley ji, an articulate, intellect and affable leader. In his 4-decade long political career, he made notable contributions in the service of nation and stood up for values. My prayers are with his family and friends in this hour of grief," he said.
Ashok Gehlot, the Rajasthan CM, said, "Deeply saddened to know of untimely demise of former Union minister and senior BJP leader, Sh #ArunJaitley. My heartfelt condolences to his family members. May God give them strength. May his soul rest in peace."
