Vijay Deverakonda's two consecutive flops have taken a toll on a third film. We are talking about 'Hero', which went on the floors last year and has now been shelved.
Mythri Movie Makers of 'Rangasthalam' roped in the 'Geetha Govindam' actor by paying Rs 10 Cr for 'Hero', which director Anand Annamalai resolved to make in three languages. Just pre-production works and the first schedule consumed Rs 10 Cr!
Much to their shock, the producers realized that the film was not shaping up well at all. Their dissatisfaction with the product coincided with the failure of 'Dear Comrade' last year. Since that multi-lingual film sank without a trace, Mythri Movie Makers started to have second thoughts about the ambitious 'Hero'.
The failure of 'World Famous Lover' has come as the last straw that broke the camel's back. 'Hero' is now no more.
Unless it is picked up by some other production house, 'Hero' will be a zero forever.
