Director 'abuses' Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker on Twitter
Most recently, Bollywood director Vivek Agnihotri had to delete a tweet made sarcastically to 'Veere Di Wedding' actress Swara Bhaskar when Twitter locked his account for "abusing" the actress.
It all started with Swara slamming a Kerala CPM politician for making insensitive remarks against a nun, who is a rape victim. “Absolutely shameful and disgusting!!!! Scum present across political spectrums and religious divides in India. Literally nauseating!” she said.
At this, Agnihotri, who doesn't like Swara's political views, said, “Where is the placard #MeTooProstituteNun?” He was referring to Swara's controversial and hypocritical campaign when Asifa was raped in Kathua early this year.
After Agnihotri's remark, Swara got enraged and asked Twitter India to take cognizance of the "abusive tweet". Twitter took prompt action. "No tolerance for cyber bullying and abuse of women on public platforms! (Or private - but one thing at a time) Thank you #SayNoToBullying," Swara noted later.
