Don't make excuses for your loss: Modi

Speaking on the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, Narendra Modi minced no words when he told the Opposition to stop making excuses for its electoral defeat.

"There was a time when BJP had just 2 seats in Lok Sabha.  We worked hard and won the trust of the people.  We didn't make excuses and blamed the polling booths," the Prime Minister said.

Modi found fault with those who are saying that BJP has won but India and its democracy have lost.  "What kind of argument is this? Did India win in Wayanad?  What about Rae Bareli?" he asked.

Modi pooh-poohed the suggestion that BJP has won only because it has had the media on its side.  "Does the same logic apply in Tamil Nadu and Kerala?" Modi asked.
