Director Sreenu Vaitla, producer Anil Sunkara and writer Gopi Mohan on Wednesday fondly recalled the mania that surrounded 'Dookudu' before and immediately after its release on 23 September 2011. The film turned 9 today.
Sreenu Vaitla, taking to Twitter, recalled how he enjoyed himself shooting the movie with Mahesh Babu and others. "The film is surely a milestone in my career. I thank Mahesh for this crazy, emotional and affectionate journey. I thank the cast and crew for this fond memory," he wrote.
Producer Anil Sunkara said that the film celebrated the maximum number of post-release bashes. "We even had a 1 year of party on its first anniversary. We had such euphoria those days. The film is a synonym of success, satisfaction and sensation. From Day 1 of the shoot to Day 101 of release, we had the euphoria going," he added. Earlier this year, Anil produced Mahesh's 'Sarileru Neekevvaru'.
Gopi Mohan said that he wrote the film out of sheer respect for Mahesh.
Starring also Samantha Akkineni, Brahmanandam, MS Narayana, Sonu Sood and others, the film had music by Thaman. Cinematography was by KV Guhan and Prasad Murella.
