Father of rape victim told to host party by panchayat
A deplorable incident has come to light in Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh district. The father of a 17-year-old rape victim has reportedly been asked by the village Panchayat to host a feast for the village.
"They have declared me and my family an outcast after I failed to follow the diktat. They told me the feast will 'purify' my daughter," the poor father alleged.
The police have started a probe after the father's statement to a news agency. "The incident occurred in January. The father of the girl complained that the Panchayat had declared them outcast until they organize a feast with non-veg food. Police have questioned the villagers, nothing of the sort has come to fore, a probe is underway," a cop has been quoted as saying. ( Image & Content courtesy: ANI)
