Honour killing: Wife says her entire family conspired to murder Hemanth
The killing of Yoga Hemanth Kumar, a youngster who married Avanthi Reddy on June 10, in Sangareddy, has shocked the Telugu States. A distraught Avanthi has alleged that her family and extended family conspired to kill her husband on Thursday. Avanthi's family didn't like her, a Reddy, to get married to the Vaishya man.

"We eloped and got married on June 10. This angered my elders. I gave up all claim on the family property. Yesterday, some of my relatives visited us at our house and cheated us into believing that they were friendly. Suddenly, they dragged us onto the road in front of our house. They made us get into one of the three cars they brought. I shouted for help but nobody came forward," Avanthi told the media on Friday. Avanthi managed to get out of the car. After this, she called up her father, Lakshman Reddy, who didn't respond. She suspects that her father was in touch with one of her uncles, who was very much in the car.

Avanthi alleged that her cousins, brothers-in-law and even her sister-in-law were aware of the plan to get Hemanth murdered. "About 15 members of my family were involved in the plan. My 'mena baavalu' Ranjith Reddy and Rakesh Reddy, my uncles, my 'vadina' Rajitha knew about the plan to murder my husband," she said.
