How Pawan Kalyan can be a Lohiate-Marxist ?
Pawan Kalyan seems to like Ram Manohar Lohia's scholarship. This is what one infers upon reading his latest Twitter posts. "To understand the socio-political landscape of our motherland, one should thoroughly understand the caste system, Marxism, Religion, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi," the Jana Sena chief today said, sharing a book title written by Lohia.
Lohia is a socialist and is described as the "father of anti-Congressism". "He is the one who actually started the politics of Mahagathbandhan by forming an alliance with the Jan Sangh and other parties to defeat the Congress in state elections (in the 1960s)," writes columnist Sahil Joshi.
While Pawan Kalyan has always been attracted to socialism and Marxism in bits and pieces, he can't be expected to view religion the way a Lohia or an Ambedkar did. But he may well take socialist positions on policy matters, in which case he will be going against Ambedkar's free-market ideology.
