Hyderabad multiplexes face vigilance wrath
On Monday, at least three major multiplexes in Hyderabad found themselves at the receiving end of the action of vigilance department for flouting new rules regarding the prices of snacks. It's known that, from August 1, they are supposed to sell packaged items only at MRP price. Other rules are also in force.
Most multiplexes, like PVR, Inorbit, and RK Cineplex, have been found to be giving the rules a short shrift.
As a result, the Vigilance Controller today conducted raids on them. "These multiplexes are selling snacks at abnormal prices. A case has been registered," he said. Seizure of billing machines has taken place.
