IMA demands an explanation from Health Minister for promoting 'Coronil'
Indian Medical Association which shocked by the blatant lie spread by Patanjali as their product 'Coronil' is effective against Corona and they got approval from WHO. On Friday, Patanjali founder, Baba Ramdev has launched 'Coronil' and released a scientific research paper stating that WHO has given as it works against Corona in an event organized by Patanjali in presence of Central Ministers Harsha Vardhan and Nitin Gadkari.

Coronil gets the (CoPP) Certificate of Pharmaceutical Product from the Ayush section of the Central Drugs Standard Organisation based on the WHO certification scheme. Over this, WHO responded and released a statement that they haven't permitted any traditional drug.
IMA asked Health Minister for an explanation of how can he promotes a drug like that without any proper approval. And what is the need of spending Rs.35,000 crores by the Indian government for Corona vaccines?
Based on the Medical Council of India's act, under section 6:1:1, no doctor is liable to promote any drug. And also no physician or doctor can recommend, promote, release paper, certificate or endorse any drug with a picture without prior authorization.
IMA writes to the Medical Council of India over disrespecting the code of conduct and sought Suo Moto explanation over propagating this blatant lie and the Health Minister also need to explain it.
