Kamal Haasan has on Monday opined that Amit Shah's "Hindi imposition" plans will make India an exclusive country. Without taking the Home Minister's name directly, the actor-politician commented that unity in diversity is a reality which no Shah, Sultan or Samrat can undo without inviting disastrous consequences.
Wading into the language debate rather sensationally, Kamal said that the "battle for our language" will be exponentially much bigger than the Jallikattu movement of 2016.
Following his opposition, BJP MP Subrahmanyam Swamy pooh-poohed Kamal, calling him an idiot. "Moron Kamalahasan and DMK Chief Stalin are howling about the imposition of Hindi. What about their imposition that no Hindi will be taught in TN? Let Hindi be an optional third language and the choice on which language to opt left to the student," the saffron leader tweeted out.
