King Kohli's ODI No 1 crown to Pak Skipper Babar Azam
Indian Skipper Virat Kohli has maintained ODI No.1 position for more than 1300 days since August 2017-April 2021. Now, he is replaced by Pakistan Skipper, Babar Azam.
And it is known that Virat hasn't scored a century in all formats including ODIs for more than a year. On the other hand, Babar Azam has been shining in each game and has finally fulfilled his dream to be the World No.1 ODI batsman.
In last 78 innings, Babar scored 3808 runs( 13 hundreds and 17 fifties) with an average of 56.83 and his highest score is 125* whereas Virat scored 3100 runs (only 8 centuries and 20 fifties) with an average of 45.58.
Babar Azam is only the fourth Pakistan batsman to achieve the No. 1 ranking in ODI cricket. He's the first batsman since Mohammad Yousuf in 2003 to achieve this feat.
With this, Babar Azam ends Pakistan's 18-year wait to see their batsman on the very top in ICC ratings.
As per the new ICC ratings, Babar Azam takes the No.1 spot with 865 points whereas Virat Kohli in the second position with 857, Rohit Sharma in the third position with 825, Taylor in the fourth with 801 and Finch with 791 points stands in 5th position.
Babar Azam is in 6th position in Tests and 3rd in T20Is.
