"Licensees surrender weapons"-CP Anjani kumar
In the Twin Cities, those who have weapon licenses will have to submit their weapons immediately at the nearest police station, but, City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said in a statement that the weapons should be handed over to the official arms dealers and given information to the concerned police stations.
The commissioner said in a statement that the decision was taken in the run-up to the March 14 elections for the graduate MLC seats. He said the decision was taken to prevent any untoward incidents during the elections and disturb peace and security. He said the licensed weapons could be taken back on March 24 after the completion of the MLC election process. He warned that legal action would be taken against those who disobeyed the orders.
