Some rumours don't die. One of them pertains to 'Master', which stars Thalapathy Vijay in the lead.
Recently, there were rumours that the film will hit the OTT directly bypassing a theatrical release. Responding to the rumours, the makers of the big-ticket film on Saturday reiterated their earlier stance that 'Master' will release only in theatres.
To begin with, the rumours were a figment of the imagination. Only either Netflix or Amazon are theoretically in a financial position to buy a massive film like 'Master'. Neither has shown any keen interest in south Indian biggies, barring a couple of exceptions. Committing funds to the tune of Rs 100 Cr to just one film, however important it might be, will be difficult for any streaming platform.
It's for the same reason that no streaming platform might buy Pawan Kalyan's 'Vakeel Saab'.
