Mamata acting as per PK's radical advice?
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has created a flutter by saying that her party, CPI(M) and Congress should come together to defeat the BJP in the State. This comes one month after the Lok Sabha results, which gave the ruling party a severe jolt, besides wiping out CPM and Congress in the State.
It's not clear whether Mamata wants an alliance with the two parties. She has only said that there should be a joint fight against the BJP at the national level.
CPM, for all we know, is her arch-rival. And CPM has worked its best to weaken TMC by tacitly encouraging the growth of the BJP in the State in recent years. Can the two enemies unite now, like SP and BSP have done in Uttar Pradesh?
Star political strategist Prashant Kishor is said to have impressed upon Mamata to make the statement. After collaborating with YSRCP, he is working with TMC to help it sail ahead of the 2021 Assembly elections.
