RBI works on Digital currency which is different from cryptocurrency
RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has expressed his opinion on current issues including digital currency and the hike in LPG and Fuel Prices. Mr Das is unfolded that they are working on Central bank digital currency which is different from the existing cryptocurrencies.
RBI Governor also said," We don't want to fall behind in this technological revolution and need to fully capitalize on the benefits of blockchain technology.
Responding to the hike in fuel and LPG prices, Mr Das said that Central and state governments need to come up with a coordinated plan to reduce the taxes as they independently levy indirect taxes.
Despite Central and State governments have economic pressure, they have to give free air to the people of the country during this pandemic.
And he also said that rising fuel and LPG prices lead to an increase in the cost of production, manufacturing and other aspects too, which is not at all good.
Mr Das anticipated that the centre and states will come up with a positive decision over LPG and Fuel hikes.
